We thought we would share some shots of one of our projects which does a great job of showing how the building sits in its context. The house is clearly visible from some distant viewpoints but is more concealed the closer you get to it – this means that although the design is contemporary, it has room to breathe and sits as one of many buildings on the hillside – adding to the diversity of buildings in the area without being dominating. The design was envisaged as a transparent vertically clad timber volume which floats above a stone plinth; this references the trees which float on the hillside above the fields – we think this shot represents that well…………
