The project involved a full remodelling of the existing accommodation, along with a two storey extension to allow for more space for the young family. The building had an unusual history and had evolved over time which resulted in the need to ‘unpick’ some of those developments and give back a sense of simplicity and calm to the historic spaces.

The living room is located on the first floor to make the most of the historic layout and to better connect with the light and views, and to the ground floor the large kitchen dining space connects to the garden and views over the Pennines to the south.
