The scheme at Dairy Cottage comprises of an extension to the property’s existing annex and garage to create an independent dwelling. The annex sits on private land and shares a garage with the main house.
The extension to the North gable follows the same profile of the existing roof and the extension on the West elevation is flat roof. The new main entrance is located to the West of the property to provide a more private and independent entrance from the main house.
The walls and roofline extend beyond a glazed gable to the North to provide shelter as well as maintaining privacy from the main family home to the East of the property.
The existing building was constructed in blockwork with a render finish. The new extensions are also constructed in blockwork with both render finish and external timber cladding. The single storey extension on the West elevation is clad in naturally finished timber.
