During Ben’s time with world renowned Fielden Clegg Bradley he was project architect for the university theatre for Bath Spa University. The scheme comprised of a 186-seat auditorium with full backstage and technical facilities, plus three large teaching studios.
The building is set in the beautiful historic campus to the West of the City of Bath. The project was successfully delivered under difficult and restrictive conditions, with the distinctive slate clad facade adding a playful and individual character to the building.
Together with the Michael Tippett Centre’s concert hall, the University Theatre
constitutes a significant arts complex for the region that will help support its developing reputation in the creative and cultural industries.
