The project includes a new wing to an old bastle in a wonderful location in the north Pennines AoNB, with the design making the most of the panoramic views across the valley as well as providing a contrast in proportion, space and light to the main house. The new element has been designed with sensitivity to the house to create a connection with the garden and landscape beyond and uses a subtle and limited pallet of materials to complement the design.
