Alex studied at Northumbria University for both his Master of Architecture and undergraduate degree, receiving a first class honours and an RIBA commendation for his final year project. He became a registered architect in 2018 following completion of his PGDip at Newcastle University.
Since joining the practice in 2016 Alex has led a number of key projects, including Floating House, Percy Cottage and the Farrell Centre. More recently, he is playing a key role in Freyja, a new landmark restaurant and hotel building alongside several exciting one-off houses, a creative re-use project, new mixed-use and multi-unit developments.
In 2023 Alex was promoted to Associate Director to acknowledge his significant contribution to the practice. His experience ranges from heritage and cultural project to one-off houses, multiple unit and mixed use developments with scales ranging from £50k to £4m.
Alex’s role as project architect for the extension to the grade II listed Percy Cottage was recently recognised with the ‘RIBA North East Project Architect of the Year Award’, alongside an RIBA regional award for the project.
