studio away days!

We had a great time on our annual away days last weekend, when the practice had the pleasure of staying in the RIBA Stirling Prize winning building; Astley Castle in Warwickshire.

Thanks to the team for making it such a great trip – lots of lovely food and the odd glass of wine were had, and there was plenty of time to enjoy the fantastic building. It really is one of the finest examples of the creative reuse of a building and seamlessly integrates the contemporary interventions and detailing with the historic character – an inspiration.

All credit to Witherford Watson Mann architects (Stirling Prize winners in 2015), and if you fancy staying, the castle is owned and managed by the Landmark Trust.

Thanks also to our friends at Napier Clarke, Carter Gregson Gray, AHMM and Toast for visiting as well – I’m sure it was our fun and charisma that attracted you, and nothing to do with a cheeky look at the building!
