Planning Permission for Sunnyside

We are delighted to have received planning permission for this wonderful project in Northumberland. The scheme remodels the existing Grade II listed house to make it more useable and accessible on a day to day basis, as well as opening up the spaces to create a large open plan kitchen, bringing in more light and making better use of the views across the valley.

The proposals also include the reorganisation of the access to and movement around the grounds to manage vehicles and give breathing space to the front of the house with more space for gardens and quiet space outside the kitchen and connected to the views.

Other elements of the scheme include the restoration of a Victorian water tower and a new two storey extension to link this to the house which are wonderful projects in their own right, then the final piece in the puzzle is a new garden room set in the walled garden between the kitchen and the wider grounds which can be seen in the images as shown here.

This is an extensive reworking of a really characterful site and buildings, and is a design which will be transformative in this sensitive historic and greenbelt setting. We are looking forward to progressing the technical design and getting on to site early in 2025!
