We are excited to say that we have secured planning permission for this wonderful project close to the river Tyne. The works involve the extensive renovation and remodeling of a number of outbuildings as well as works to the main house, with the key to the design being the addition a new garden wall to hide away cars, and to create a new entrance sequence for day to day use. This approach enables the grounds to be redesigned to celebrate and frame the beautiful Grade II listed house.
The old conservatory is replaced with a glazed element which then connects the house to the restored outbuildings and new internal courtyard space. This creative use of the external structures and spaces allows a light and modern open plan kitchen to be added, perfectly balancing the historic with the contemporary.
The technical design details and discussions with contractors have been developed alongside the planning and listed building applications, so we will now be in a position to begin on site early in 2026!
