Another successfully completed scheme; the house lies in the centre of the conservation area in Hexham, Northumberland and has been designed as a contemporary response to this historic setting, with a double pitch mirroring that of its neighbours. The position on the site re-establishes the building line along the street, and material choices are drawn from those used in the conservation area but are given a modern interpretation through thoughtful design composition and clever technical detailing. The design surpasses Part M of the building regulations and has been designed with innovative environmental solutions incorporating underfloor heating with solar thermal water heating, heat recovery system and future proofing infrastructure for photo voltaic technologies. The house was completed on time and on budget (as all our projects are!), and we are very pleased to share these new photos of it looking lovely in the autumn sun.
