Lynsey was the project Architect for this scheme whilst a director of Designscape Ltd. The house was developed within the walls of a former squash club giving the unique opportunity to work with both internal and external spaces which enjoyed the same envelope. The original conversion to a domestic dwelling had been poorly executed with compromised room spaces and a lack of natural light.

Large openings were made into the South elevation and sections of floor removed in order to bring natural light deep into the plan. A new celestory window to the entire third floor gave the existing cramped bedrooms volume and views. The unique external spaces influenced the large glazed retracting doors which disappeared into walls seamlessly connecting habitable rooms with private external courtyards. The clients interest in detail allowed for a close relationship to create an entirely bespoke product.
